Codecademy And JavaScript
Yesterday I found out a website called Codecademy. Codecademy is a website that teaches you Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, HTML/CSS, and much more. I am currently working on JavaScript and HTML/CSS. Since I just started yesterday, I have not completed a lot of things and have not progressed as far as others, but I have over 4 hours of experience with JavaScript and HTML/CSS.
I like JavaScript better than HTML/CSS because JavaScript is way easier and simpler than HTML/CSS because in HTML/CSS you have to have a line of code that says <!DOCTYPE> to make the computer know it is using HTML/CSS. second of all is that you need to write an opening html (<html>) and a closing html (</html). Note the slash. Third of all you need to have a opening and closing head, and an opening and closing body.
In JavaScript (or JS for short) you can start with any first line of code you want, and there is no head or body like in HTML/CSS. Another thing is that in JavaScript you don't have to worry about putting in images that much.
After I finish The JavaScript course, I will fully move my attention to HTML/CSS. Each programming language has it's own course. In one course there is around 5 units. In one course there is also a very loose estimate of 6 quizzes. In one unit there is 1- 3 quizzes. In one unit there is also 1-2 lessons. I finished 4 lessons, 3 in JavaScript and 1 in HTML/CSS, which makes about two units at the max.
I forgot to tell you that there is one course that has two programming languages in it: HTML/CSS. The reason they are together is that they are both webpage building languages. As Codecademy explained, HTML is the skeleton of a body and CSS is the skin and organs. CSS is styling the webpage while HTML is the text and the headers of the webpage. After I finish both courses, I will try out on the Ruby on Rails courses. After I finish all three of them, I will move on to Java. Java is the estimated BEST PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD. Only extreme Pros can completely master this art. I planned on doing this last because it is harder than the three courses I am going to finish.
#CODINGPOST (and yes, this is a new #.)
Hope you start Codecademy too ! (link above)
